Arabize is a matrix structured company. The matrix organization type assigns each worker to two bosses in two different hierarchies. One hierarchy is "functional" who assures that each type of expert (or employee) in the organization is well-trained, and measured by a boss who is super-expert in the same field. The other direction is "executive" who tries to get projects completed using the experts.
In Arabize, each project utilizes people from different functional areas. In our matrix structure, and upon the need of a certain project, individual staff members from different departments will be selected as project team to work together. The executive head (Project Manager) decides what task is to be done and at what time. Whereas, the functional head (Department Manager) determines the people who will work on the project.
Accordingly, each employee reports to two heads, the employee reports to the Functional/Department Manager if he/she faces any problem concerning the job and its instructions or for training purposes, …etc. While the employee’s reporting to a certain Project Manager is project-based only. That is to say, he/she receives the work files from the project manager, follows the set schedule and delivers the finished files to the project Manager again.
So, each functional/department manager will share/join in administrating, allocating and managing his/her staff with the project managers in order to fulfill the organization and projects' objectives. |
